Contrary to some rumours, the Late Night Levy seems to be alive and kicking. The Home Office has now issued a consultation on the Late Night Levy and EMROs. The consultation period is 12 weeks and closes on 10 April 2012.  Follow the link below for further details.

HOME OFFICE AGREES WITH ENHANCED CHECKS FOR "TAXI" DRIVERS

The Home Office have now accepted the view of the bona-fides trades groups NPHA, Trades Unions, Suzy Lamplugh Trust, Local Authorities, Transport for London and NALEO that Taxi & Private Hire Drivers should be subject to enhanced CRB Disclosure procedures. Secondary legislation is to follow.

From 13th July 2011 the DCMS has implemented increase in stake for B3 gaming machines to £2 and has changed the number of B3 gaming machines permitted in adult gaming centres (AGC) and bingo premises.
