HOME OFFICE STATEMENT-ENHANCED CRB CHECKS FOR TAXI/PH DRIVERS


HOME OFFICE AGREES WITH ENHANCED CHECKS FOR "TAXI" DRIVERS The Home Office have now accepted the view of the bona-fides trades groups NPHA, Trades Unions, Suzy Lamplugh Trust, Local Authorities, Transport for London and NALEO that Taxi & Private Hire Drivers should be subject to enhanced CRB Disclosure procedures. Secondary legislation is to follow.

The Home Office issued a Press release today confirming the Minister's intentions to regulate to ensure all taxi & private hire driver applicants and licensees are subject to an enhanced level of CRB Disclosure and to enable Licensing Authorities to check that applicants are not barred from working with children or vulnerable adults.
